Ryman Healthcare

Ryman Healthcare is New Zealand’s leading provider of Retirement Living options for New Zealanders over the age of 65. The company has an excellent reputation for providing exceptional facilities, winning the Australasian Aged Care Awards for “Best Retirement Village in New Zealand” for the previous 6 successive years. When selecting a supplier for the painting and renovation of the new Edmund Hillary Retirement Village Ryman continued this commitment to quality and only approached a small selection of companies. This closed tender process was won by Henshaw Painting Services Limited and the contract has been awarded to them since 2006.


This contract requires the provision of a painting maintenance programme for the entire village and attached facilities. This has so far involved re-painting and renovation of 50 village townhouses, complete painting and decorating of the new 120 bedroom hospital and the painting of a number of new buildings within the complex.

HPSL have five fulltime staff members at the village and a dedicated supervisor overseeing up to 30 painters and sub-contractors. This approach ensures that Ryman are consistently provided with a comprehensive and efficient service.
